PGE Energia Ciepła, a company from the PGE Group, is currently the largest producer of electricity and heat based on the process of high-efficiency cogeneration in Poland.

On 1 January 2019, an integration of heat and power generation assets took place. PGE Energia Ciepła acquired six heat and power plants from PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A. (PGE GiEK) located in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Bydgoszcz, Kielce, Zgierz, Lublin and Rzeszów. As a result of the integration, PGE Energia Ciepła is currently the biggest heat producer on the Polish market which holds a nearly 25 percent share in the market of heat cogeneration and operates 14 combined heat and power plants with the thermal power of 7.7 GWt and electric power capacity of 4.12 GWe and heat, as well as a distribution network of 524.5 km.

PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. produces and supplies heat to large Polish cities, such as Cracow, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Rzeszów Lublin, Bydgoszcz and Kielce and is also present in Toruń, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Zgierz where it distributes heat to end users. PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. is also an owner of a system power plant in Rybnik.

PGE Energia Ciepła is headquartered in Warsaw while its Shared Service Centre and the R&D Centre are based in Cracow.
